The events of the past decade have proven how easily global supply chains can be affected by worldwide political, social, and economical changes and challenges. ACME Machine understands this better than anyone, as our brand was introduced in 2016, right at the start of a tumultuous economic time for the world.

The Start of Our Brand

ACME Machine, Co. was created in 2016 as an introduction brand for AR-15 builders and manufacturers, right around the time when America was going through another presidential election. At the time, this market was preparing for an upward swing, with the anticipation of the election’s results swinging a certain way. When the election did not go as the industry expected, many companies started dumping inventory as fast as possible in order to find less expensive options for their supply chain.

ACME originally had planned to manufacture small arms parts and accessories in our US facilities, but due to these changes, we took advantage of Global Precision Parts’ joint ventures overseas to source suppliers for these components. In addition, we worked closely with other OEM manufacturers to make the remaining parts so that we could focus on building our brand. We teamed up with Anderson Manufacturing, Aero Precision, Bear Creek, Ballistic Advantage, Luth-AR, and several other notable brands in order to bring quality products and high value to our customers. Despite many difficulties with overseas quality control, supply chain challenges, and some internal staff changes, ACME produced quality rifle packages, uppers, lowers, bolt carrier groups, and handguards, and we even manufactured our own scopes along with these products.

The Unexpected Pandemic

By the time COVID was spreading across the globe, ACME had grown extensively as a brand and a company, but our supply chain had all but dissolved due to the pandemic. Thanks to our partnerships in the industry and the talent of our team, we were able to carefully rebuild our supply chain and begin making more products domestically. A major difficulty was our stock– we were consistently out of stock on our webstore of many of our popular products, and with the breakdown of our initial supply chain, we had to find new ways to supply these components while still offering a high level of value.

As of today, we have been slowly building our brand back up, with new successes in our AM-15 rifles and new networking being done to improve our supply chain. Despite all of the challenges that we’ve faced in our short life, we continue to persevere and provide quality and value for our customers. Acme will continue to partner with global manufacturing leaders like Global Precision Parts to provide Proud Domestically made Lowers, Uppers, Barrels, and all machined parts for full AR-15, AR-10 and soon AR platforms.
